This magical villa offers the perfect combination of privacy, comfort and proximity to the town of Cabrera. The Seadog Inn is a truly tropical island setting offering its own small private beach, unique swimming pool and spacious accommodations.

The Seadog is an airy 5 bedroom / 4 bathroom oceanfront vacation villa overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on a pristine cove. Our multi-language staff is there to assist you in every way you desire from fully cooked gourmet meals, local cuisine or complete privacy, your choice. We also encourage you to try the local restaurants, they are both fun to visit and enjoyable to try.

The Villa faces eastwardly to capture and allow you to enjoy the soothing trade winds and natural breezes. To supplement the winds, The Seadog has also Air-condition in each room to keep you much more cooler.

Our patio bar (The BoneBar) quickly becomes the gathering place at The Seadog. The bar itself is framed with humpback whale bones collected by local fishermen from the Atlantic Ocean as they washed ashore. Outdoor seating and lounging areas add to the comfort and create a perfect area for cocktails, napping and reading.

Cabrera has everything close by from waterfalls to a historic lighthouse or natural crystal clear lakes. The beaches are fabulous and plentiful! There are enough unique local bars and restaurants to add an extra dimension to your Dominican experience. We'll supply you a guide or you can be your own.

What makes this property even more remarkable, starting in late January, the humpback whales are migrating to their mating grounds right in our own backyard. These magnificent creatures are visible to the naked eye as the splash their way along the coast.

Unforgettable Family getaway by Yomaris Macdonald 07/15/2018
Had excellent customer service from Julia, Lucy and Andy. They made the entire family feel at home. Nothing beats the view. Great beaches nearby. The house is a little old and had some power issues but the ACs worked great at night. Unbeatable value. Counts down to go back next year!
Extremely well maintained, breathtaking views, fun backyard and rooms, GREAT staff by Jami Butler 06/01/2018
When we decided on the DR for my 40th birthday destination we were looking for something removed from the more touristy areas. We wanted to experience the true culture and have some space to spread out on our long trip. We couldn't have picked a better town or property. Not only was the house more spacious than we thought, it had lots of fun surprises and was extremely well maintained to be a true beach front property. Lucy and Anderson's genuinely happy willingness to go out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed provided us with a very stress free existence at the Sea Dog. Not to mention Lucy has a true talent when it comes to cooking, don't miss out on it.
Those things themselves would have made for a great stay. What made it absolutely perfect was the house manager Julia. Honest, fun, crazy Julia. She was our EVERYTHING. In retrospect I'm not sure how we would have navigated through without her. I think her goal in life is to make sure her guests don't get taken advantage of by vendors on the beach or in any of the towns. She made sure we were treated fairly everywhere we went and also that we understood the etiquette and culture to avoid any mishaps. Julia also kept a very thorough book of our charges for groceries etc and backed it up with saving the receipt for everything and making sure we always knew where we stood. She gave us tons of options for things to do but wasn't pushy towards an itinerary. She was just there to help. I have rented a lot of vacation houses around the world and never encountered someone as wonderful and accommodating as Julia. We just got home and are missing her so badly we might just book a flight and go right back. Thank you Julia, Lucy and Anderson for helping us have the time of our lives. We will be back.
Stunning Property, Exceptional Staff!!! by Jonathan Krauklis 05/22/2018
Book your next vacation at the Seadog. The pictures don’t do it justice and you won’t be disappointed. The only problem I had was that I wasn’t there long enough.

Not only is the place right on the ocean, the property is gorgeous, the pool is clean and well maintained and the house has everything you need. Totally exceeded all expectations. That being said, the real win was the wonderful people I had the pleasure of meeting.

Anderson and Lucy are fantastic. They keep the place clean and gorgeous, they are extremely helpful and always made sure I had everything needed. I can’t thank them enough. 🙂

Julia, the property manager, might be one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met. She is super warm, welcoming and an absolute gem. She would always check in with me to see if I needed groceries, and most importantly, ice cold Presidente. She made vacation my exactly what I was looking for and is the reason I will be going back sooner than I should.

If you’re serious about getting a place in the Dominican and want a gorgeous place to relax in the sun, look no further. This is where you want to be.
Family vacation of a lifetime!!! by 04/13/2018
Tom and I traveled to the Dominican Republic with our three kids, ages 17, 18 and 20. We were a bit apprehensive about renting a home in a village versus staying in a resort, but when our taxi (furnished with drinks for our trip from the airport - just over an hour away) arrived at the Sea Dog Inn, we were welcomed by Julia, Pearl and Anderson with refreshing fruity drinks and prepared snacks and that's when our worries began to slip away. We found the property on VRBO and were instantly attracted to the beauty of the house, the infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean and the Jimmy Buffett theme! But what really made the vacation a memory we will treasure forever, was the staff. We cannot say enough amazing things about Julia. She is irreplaceable as the manager of this property. Without her, we would not have experienced half of the things that we did during our stay there. From taking us out on the town at night (Marcelo's!!!), to arranging a horseback ride up into the mountains to have an authentic creole lunch cooked over an open fire at a lovely Dominican family's home, to taking videos of our family's first plunge into the Caribbean, she was not only our guide, but someone we became fast friends with. She arranged for us to have a spa day at the house, she prepared some amazing authentic Dominican food for us, and showed us all of the hot spots throughout Cabrera. Even her husband, Junior, joined us for some excursions. At one of the beaches, Playa Diamante, he, Anderson, Tom and our boys all played baseball with several Dominican boys for 2 hours! Using a stick and tennis ball, with 3rd base in the water, they had a blast! When we talk about our vacation, we talk about how much we miss Julia and her family. We also talk so much about Anderson. He is the groundskeeper of the property, but he did so much more! He helped us to get groceries, came with us to dinner one night when we weren't sure where to go, got us binoculars when we saw the humpback whales breaching in the ocean beyond the pool on the property, fixed the hot water when it wasn't so hot, and, along with Julia and her husband, taught us how to dance, Dominican style.
With three older teenagers vacationing with their parents, the property allowed for us all to have our own space, while still coming together by the pool and bar/patio area. Truly, this was a trip that brought us all together in a beautiful setting making wonderful memories...we wish we could go back already!
New years 2018 by Kebbra Ball 12/28/2017
We had the most memorable holiday at the Sea Dog Inn. The home was perfect for our families great common areas for games and social time and plenty of private space for quiet reflection. The people of Cabrera were so friendly, helpful and fun we would go back every year if we could. Thank you Julia, Lucy and Anderson for welcoming us into your home and community it was amazing!
5 Star Views, 3.5 Star Accomodations by Krys Manning 12/16/2017
We had 9 adults (all family) and absolutely loved our experience. However, you must remember DR is not up to US standards. That said, the house views are breath taking and our House Manager was great but, there are some things you need to know. The a/c went out every night as we were told it was connected to the government controlled system. The house smells a bit musty and some of the furniture was sagging or broken. The rental cars are substandard - one we rented actually used propane and some odd way to start it - we eventually had to switch and pay more for a gas vehicle. They were also full of ants. If you can look beyond that, you are in for a treat. The DR landscape is like none other - absolutely incredible. Once we got used to the way of life, we enjoyed ourselves and all the DR had to offer.
Perfect Oceanside Villa - also affordable by Lester Limerick 02/22/2017
The Seadog Inn is has a amazing view of the ocean as it sits at the center of a cove. The wave action is spectacular and will take away all the stress that you brought with you to this piece of paradise. We were fortunate enough to see whales this trip as they migrate this time of year. Can't say enough about Julia and her staff. She is a great host with a bright smile and is a "subject matter expert" on Cabrera and the north cost. She answered all our questions and is very creative when it comes to a food plan. Make sure you have Maximo cut down a coconut and make you a rum drink!
Beauty, Culture, and Relaxing...undeniably an amazing place to experience the true DR by Cindi Hayes 03/19/2016
My first experience with the Sea Dog was through its owner Chester. He's was extremely accommodating and was fast to reply to our families many questions! He also provided a ton of information about the area and its culture. After the trip, he followed up to ensure we enjoyed our stay, as well as, called the house manger (Julia) to check on us!

The house is amazing. Very comfortable for the 10 adults we had and the view was to die for, absolutely phenomenal! The casita is exceptional. Waking up to the view it provides is a dream! The house is situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean and the beautiful sunrises! The house staff (Julia, Lucy, & Maximo) were superb! I would highly recommend having them provide dinner (Julia and Lucy cook a killer lasagna), all meals were amazing and filling! We also had breakfast which was a great idea, and if you want something besides a traditional breakfast (toast, fruit, eggs, bacon) all you have to do is request it! Julia & Lucy were very accommodating when we asked to prepare a particular meal or change the scheduled menu. Julia was very detail oriented and always ensured we had everything we needed. She handled setting up all transportation, the excersions, as well as, the additional groceries we requested on the way in.

We never felt threatened or unsafe (Maximo and the watchman were great). Chester will tell you, so make sure you listen...Don't pet the cats!! Lil Diablito is an amazing older dog that makes sure you are aware if someone or something is in the yard and will chase it off. The Wi-Fi, plumbing, and electrical is not up to US standard or the Americanized resorts, but in no means does it deter from the experience.

Thank you Chester and Staff for an amazing trip and treating my family like your own! Look forward to our next visit!!

A Week in Paradise by victoria maynard 02/20/2016
From the moment we arrived in the Dominican we knew we were in good hands with The Sea Dog Inn. Our driver was waiting at the airport with air-conditioned transportation to hold 8 of us and lots of luggage! Cold beer, water and soda in the van was very welcome after a long day or travelling. Upon arrival at the Sea Dog we were greeted by Nicole, Julia and staff with delicious drinks and a fabulous prepared meal that we had prearranged.

The property is breathtaking, very well kept by Maximo (he's awesome!), with spectacular view of the ocean from many different vantage points. We were travelling with two families, and four kids so it was great to have so many different areas on the property to congregate, or find some solace. Many hours were spent poolside, or exploring our own private beach.

We were very glad to have chosen to stay in Cabrera versus a populated resort as it allowed us to immerse ourselves more in the culture of the Dominican. Day trips were taken to Playa Grande, Play Entrada, Laguna Dudu and Cabarete. The staff was more than helpful in arranging transportation for us, Ferlon being our favorite driver 🙂 We had no problem shopping at the local market for meals cooked at home, ordering in pizza when we didn't want to cook and trying out some local restaurants (Manny's is a MUST!)

This was our first trip to the Dominican but it certainly won't be our last! Chester was amazing to work with before and during our trip, always very responsive to any question. Hope to visit the Sea Dog again in the future.
Romantic, Scenic, and Adventurous! What more can you ask for? by y klein 01/17/2016
We chose the Sea Dog in for our much needed vacation. It provided us with exactly what we wanted! The place is beautiful, comfortable, and secluded. The view of the ocean is so magnificent and can be viewed from many different places. The sunrise suite is so romantic and beautiful! You can view the ocean from the bed or the comfy bench on the porch, or even from the outdoor shower. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the chairs in between the pool and ocean and lounged around by the pool and bar. so many places to sit, read, watch the ocean, or just chill. You can never get bored of the crashing waves. We woke up in the upstairs master suite to a gorgeous sunrise each morning. It was so peaceful!
Chester was extremely helpful, patient, and his communication was perfect and greatly appreciated. He was happy to answer all my (many) questions prior to our visit.
And the staff! Ferlon is a great driver. He has a great personality and he knew just what we would enjoy. Very pleasant. He added so much to our vacation. Julia was amazing too! She was very helpful and sweet and she made she made the most amazing fruit salad! The local fruits are just heaven. Julia and Ferlon took us on a motorcycle ride and showed us the area. We enjoyed experiencing the local culture with them. Maximo prepared us coconuts to drink. It was delicious and very refreshing.
All in all it was a great stay! There is so much to see and experience in the area. We are glad we took advantage of so much. We visited the Magic Mushroom with Iguana Mama. That was a very adventurous trip! Ferlon took us around to local attractions too. We visited Gri Gri lagoon, some beaches (We loved Playa Entrada), and of course the waterfall where we watched the kids jump. We also went Scuba diving in Sosua.
We left feeling like we had the best of all words; romance, adventure, and an appreciation for the local culture and people. Thanks, guys, for making our dream come true!
Highly recommended!!!
A Lush Relaxing Paradise Right on the Ocean's Edge by 04/27/2015
We arrived to find the colorful establishment tucked behind a children’s school and a lush palm grove. Maximo, the innkeeper, greeted us graciously and maintained the same positive and helpful attitude throughout our stay. There were many sleeping rooms to choose from, three in the downstairs main house (one includes its own bathroom, the other two share a bathroom,) the luxurious master bedroom/spa bathroom upstairs offers a large and private sundeck, and then of course there is the smaller private cabana perched right on the ocean’s edge. The downstairs living room couch boast an elaborate train of pillows as well as a nice sound system and TV with ample stations. The Sea Dog is appropriately decorated with kitchy pirate and island themed flags, banners, and posters. The colors of the Sea Dog (seafoam green, salmon, and light yellow) compliment the surrounding flowers and the nearby ocean water. This brings me to the highlight of this fine Inn…. THE INFINITY POOL OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN! You can gradually walk into the warm pool like entering the sea and float around for hours or read a book under the man-made waterfall. When my young cousins arrived they were ecstatic over “la piscina” and spent all day splashing and playing on the multitude of pool floats. In my times out of the water I would lounge on one of the multiple lawn chairs or the sitting hammock. On my first day Maximo even cut me down a coconut and stuck a straw in it, the fresh coconut milk/water was delicious. The pool and patio not only offer a breathtaking view of the ocean and surrounding cliffs… there is a staircase down to your own private beach. It is a small rocky beach, and it is all yours, sometimes you can see boats, cruise ships, or lobster hunters out in the distance but no one comes ashore. Just a short drive from the Sea Dog are many local hotspots such as Playa Grande (the most stunning beach!,) a great tiki pizza place (2 for 1 on Wednesdays,) La Hotel Catalina (has a divine restaurant,) Manny’s (excellent bar and restaurant) and Lagoon Gri Gri (where you can take a boat ride through caves to a local beach.) At the Sea Dog there is a grill and a full kitchen, so you can also choose to eat every meal at home if you are not in the mood to explore or spend more money. The Sea Dog is a beautiful and affordable paradise in a gorgeous location, perfect for families or a zen getaway.

Spectacular experience by 02/16/2015
Authentic charm and relaxing atmosphere are the key elements that make this property special. You have the feel of being at a beach resort, tropical and lush. Yet you are spoiled by having private and exclusive access to the beautiful house, warm and welcoming staff, and amazing view.

This is the perfect location with amenities for large groups. Plenty of space for privacy and quiet when needed and desired, yet fantastic space for being social. The Bone Bar, pool, and living room inspired fun games and conversations with our group. As did the dining room where we all enjoyed the home cooked meals by a staff of talented and friendly cooks.

Felon (trusted-driver) was accessible and ready to take us any where we wanted. He is quite knowledgeable about local areas, must see spots, and culture. He took us to a nearby beach and arranged for a fabulous lunch of lobster, salad, and specialty drinks. Was truly one of the best days of our trip!

Nicole made sure daily that we had everything we needed and wanted. She made sure fresh food was brought in daily and helped suggest lunch and dinner menus. Her focus was making sure everyone was having fun and had everything they desired.

Before leaving, I polled the group for feedback and everyone was very happy with the accommodations, food, service, location, atmosphere, etc.. We felt pampered, relaxed, and all of us left smitten with the Dominican Republic.
Family Vacation!! by Susan Kiraly 02/06/2015
We spent a week at the Seadog Inn which was absolutely perfect. We were a family of seven adults, the house was awesome with enough room for each of us to have private time if we wanted it. The view from the house was breathtaking, we were fortunate enough to see plenty of whales from the pool, which was awesome. Chester, the owner was helpful from beginning to end. The house staff were wonderful and always cheerful and kind. Maximo was always there for us if we had any needs. The only kind I can say it was absolutely perfect!!! We would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Chester and his staff for the great experience.
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME by 12/21/2014
AWESOME awesome, awesome, Jimmy Buffet would be proud. There were 10 of us who stayed very comfortably at the Sea Dog Inn. We started to plan this trip in January 2014 and Chester was supportive, helpful, and provided so much information and reassurance for us. We travelled to the Sea Dog Inn on December21/2014 and stayed until January 4/2015. From the moment we landed in the Dominican, Chester had arranged for us to be picked up at the airport, driven to the Sea Dog Inn, where Natalia and her helpers had a wonderful meal prepared for us and made an amazing Christmas dinner for us. They kept the Sea Dog Inn clean, comfortable, and helped us with all our needs. Maximo greeted us with a warm Sea Dog Inn welcome. We enlisted Maximo’s instructions to learn to play the game of dominoes. All 10 of us were comfortable, and Felon assisted us with rental cars, and arranging us to meet contacts. Chester ensured our stay was perfect and had Nicole assist us with the language. All of us concluded best Family Vacation ever, and were so glad that the Sea Dog Inn was our travel destination. We would not consider staying anywhere else when we return to the Dominican. We so much appreciate all and staying at the Sea Dog Inn allowed us to experience life in Caberra, rather than staying in a hotel. We felt safe and were treated very respectfully in Caberra, I would recommend any gringos to stay at the Sea Dog Inn. There was plenty to do with awesome beaches very nearby, Natalia, and several restaurants provided us with gourmet meals. Upon arriving home, we have all decided to plan for our next Sea Dog Inn adventure.
A wonderful destination by 07/05/2014
I would highly recommend the Sea Dog Inn to all! The house itself is beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing. There is plenty of room to accommodate multiple people. Entertaining is made easy thanks to a backyard bar and refreshing pool that has a breathtaking ocean view. Located in Cabrera, visitors can enjoy true Dominican culture. A short drive away is lake dudu, Playa Grande, and Playa Entrada just to name a few beautiful and fun locations to visit during your stay. Experience the beautiful Dominican at the Sea Dog Inn.

A Beautiful Stay by 07/05/2014
We had an amazing stay at the Sea Dog Inn with family and friends. It's secluded setting offers privacy, comfort and beautiful views of the ocean outside the safe town of Cabrera. We enjoyed socializing with the locals, and there are many affordable activities nearby. The house offers convenient amenities as well. The pool, private beach access, and Sea Dog Bar only compliment the house! Overall, it was a memorable stay not to be forgotten. I would recommend this to friends and go again!
Highly recommended! a MUST place to stay! by 07/05/2014
This villa was absolutely breath-taking! Right when we arrived looking at the pool overlooking the ocean was a scene in itself! There's cliffs on both sides to enhance the view even more and stairs going down to the ocean if you want a change from the pool. Although we traveled around and did activities and excursions throughout our stay, in all reality we could have just spent everyday at the villa and loved it! There's an amazing bone bar on the patio which is great to sit at with friends, drink, and enjoy everyone's company. At night there's lights outside on the patio to make the outside even better! The inside of the villa was very big and allowed multiple people to stay. We had five couples total that traveled and there was more than enough room for all of us! The kitchen was well equipped and each bedroom was absolutely big enough for two people to stay in. There's closets and plenty of storage space in each room as well for clothing, personal items, etc. While I had heard issues of security in Dominican Republic before traveling, I can honestly say I did not feel scared or fearful ONCE the entire trip. The villa is in a beautiful, safe area with lovely, kind locals who live in the town. The owner's of the villa are extremely welcoming, helpful, and reliable when it came to booking and for providing us with all of the information we needed for our stay. We stayed 9 days at the villa and I honestly could have stayed for a month! We definitely plan to visit DR again and this is absolutely where we are staying! What an amazing deal for the price, you'll never want to leave!
10 ppl- birthday trip by Jablonski 06/14/2014
Our group of 10ppl (ages 25-34) went for 10 days and had an incredible stay at the Sea Dog Inn. The house mgr Natalia and her help Sandy, were amazing and helpful in keeping the place spotless without being in the way of guests and cooking delicious meals upon request. For the adventurous bunch the nearby attractions of 4wheeling, LakeDudu, beaches to explore.. breathtaking and memorable but definitely Rent A Car!!! For those looking for relaxation, you can spend all day everyday in the pool just enjoying the house and stunning view - it never gets old. Privacy and safety were important to us - both were great. Overall a fantastic escape from reality, true vacation if you are ready to get off the beaten path of the resort-tourist-feel.
This place is unbelievable! by Kasia 06/14/2014

Most Relaxing Vacation Ever! by 03/14/2014
The house was incredible. Large, open and comfortably furnished inside and out! The staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful in organizing outings, massages and translations when needed. They also cooked some wonderful meals for our group. The owner took the time to email us with some destinations to see and places to try that were extremely helpful and fun! The town was very safe and easy to drive around. The super market was well stocked and accepted our US dollars. All the restaurants we dined at had incredible food and very reasonably priced. We loved hanging out at the house, in the pool, at the bone bar just listening to the ocean and watching for whales. I would definitely recommend this location!
No Stress Retreat! by 03/14/2014
The Sea Dog inn is an ideal place. It has everything you could possibly want on vacation: its own private beach and bay to hear the waves, a private pool, a private bar, fully equipped house, lots of space to spread out, beautifully maintained grounds, and a staff so friendly and attentive they will knock your socks off! There was nothing we were left wanting at the house or during our stay. Felon was a great host and tour guide, showing us all of the popular beaches and local attractions. Maximo had coco de agua ready for us at the return of every trip to mix up some rum drinks at the bar. Natalia, Sandy and Myria tirelessly kept us fed and well taken care of, and helped us spot whales off of the point.
The town of Cabrera was the perfect location to land. It had great restaurants and bars, a good market and produce stands to provision, and very friendly locals. The town was smaller so we didn’t have as much traffic or loud music and noise as the larger cities, but we could easily drive to one if we needed more action.
It is definitely a place we plan to return to!
Treated Like Royalty by 12/26/2013
We were treated like royalty from the time of inquiry, rental, arrival, extended stay and departure. Chester has been the BEST rental owner we have had the pleasure of working with (we rent 5 times yearly). I can't explain the ease we had with the rental. On arrival, the staff had a typical Dominican dinner waiting for us which was ABSOLUTELY delicious. Every detail was handled. We received an email with all of the must see and do while visiting. The home was very comfortable. The views were breathtaking. You can relax at the house all day soaking up the sun or be adventurous and explore! Best thing was having access to many locals to assist with touring. No matter where we went, the locals are friendly and quick to help you if needed. Finally, Chester was awesome when we were stranded for four extra days due to the wintery weather back in the states. We were able to stay without any hassles! Thank you again for your hospitality and wonderful staff!

paradise found by 11/23/2013
This place has everything a person needs to relax and unwind. It's laid back feel and casual atmosphere are just right. Its proximity to local attractions makes it an ideal place to unpack and venture out from. It's right off the main road but the only sounds you can hear are from the ocean. My only dissapointment was when I had to leave which was a sad moment. I have stayed at other locations in the DR and would recommend the Sea Dog without reservation.
I am a tough critic -First Class Property by 11/18/2013
If you want a beautiful property, first class staff, private, safe, awesome beach in Playa Grande, world class golf Robert Trent Jones Golf Course, San Marco restaurant in town 2 minutes from your private estate, or fabulous food and service right at Sea Dog Inn this should be your next vacation destination. Our family had to be taken out kicking and screaming already planning two weeks in 2014. Vacations are so special we all want them to be memorable and picture perfect this is one of those vacations.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty... The ocean views are incredible. The staff is accommodating and friendly. We didn't want to leave. We used our time to unwind and just relax.... Thank you Chester for sharing your wonderful home with us...

Sea Dog Inn by Christine Ellingboe 03/28/2013
We had a great time at the Sea Dog Inn. The home is very comfortable, the staff is nice and the view is gorgeous. We spent most of our time at the Bone bar and sitting on the outdoor lounge furniture. We enjoyed the golf course, Playa Grande and horseback riding with Abe, who also owns Chicos. Chicos has fantastic pizza, and Manny's has a great view. Chester, the owner, was great to work with - put us in touch with the right people and made sure that we were taken care of. Thank you to Chester and his staff for an unforgettable time.
Stay at The SeaDog Inn by Chris 03/26/2013
Hi Chester,
Just wanted to thank you again for the use of your home, we really enjoyed it. We are home now and although the sun is shining, baby it's cold outside! Your staff was wonderful, loved the cat (it usually slept with the kids) and we shared all our meals with both the cat and dog. Felon was very considerate of us and took good care of us as well. Having him available was great - thanks for arranging that.
The suggestions that you emailed us were terrific - especially anything concerning Abe. We loved his food and he took us a a great adventure on horseback. He really did a lot to reassure us about the whole transport issue as well, I think you should buy him a beer for that. He said that if we had any issues leaving on Thursday morning to call him and he would come over and help us out. That really helped morale.
We also made the acquaintance of Tim who owns the Catalina Hotel - he is from Elk Rapids Michigan. The view is amazing and the prices are reasonable for lunch and breakfast. Dinner is more I guess, but we didn't go up for anything but breakfast.
We did do a fair bit of eating and drinking at Manny's - they have great ceviche, which is a particular favorite with us.

As for Dominican Transport - they are a great resource as well. We got our entire group there and back for under $500. They were very careful with us and they called us while we were on the road to and from the airport to make sure we were happy with our service. I would keep their number handy.
So thank you for everything. Please give our best to your staff, Abe and Felon, you all really did make it enjoyable for us and we'll never forget our time there.
Take care,
Chris
Easiest experience I've had... by Christopher Elmore 03/26/2013
I was unable to make the trip to the SeaDog, but it was as easy as it gets to get things taken care of. I had some last minute events that required me to cancel the trip, but the owner was understanding. There was no problem with getting the deposit back. I've had to cancel a couple of vacations in the past, and it was headache after headache. It's nice to have something go so smooth. Although I couldn't make it this time, on the next trip to DR I will definitely book the SeaDog. It's reassuring to know things can be handled so well.
Lovely holiday at the Seadog Inn in Cabrera by Juliana Ybarra 03/24/2013
Great home with a view that took our breath away. The staff was perfect and can cook for you or you can use the kitchen to cook for yourself. The house is big and will accommodate many. The owner went out of his way and gave me a list of all the sites and restaurants to visit. The town and the people are lovely. Don't miss a lunch at Playa Grande. Lake Dudu is a must. The La Catalina has great food and you can book a fantastic horseback ride through them. If you just stay at the house all day and night you will be happy too. We will go back again. Thanks!

I'm a repeat guest. As always, the accommodations were perfect as was the view, pool, and the servants. My favorite spot in the world! Never need to leave the compound.
Seadog by Robert OConnor 02/25/2013
Incredible property with extremely friendly staff.Five minute walk to town . Only downside was we didn't stay longer. Very difficult to leave after experiencing Cabrera lifestyle. Most friendly people I have ever known. Ferlon was an amazing tour guide. Can't wait to go back.
Gorgeous property, fabulous vacation by Bridget Binder 02/15/2013
We spent 3 wonderful nights at the Seadog Inn and are already planning our return. The house and property are gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. The owner was very helpful in answering all our questions before arrival, and the staff was terrific. We were pleased to find that the kitchen was well stocked, and they provided the little things (hand, dish, and shower soap are the ones that come to mind) that often rentals in the DR are missing.
My group lives here in the DR, and the beaches nearby are among the most beautiful we have seen in country. We loved Playa Caleton and Playa Grande. My daughter enjoyed searching for rocks and sea glass on the beach below the house, and watching the snails that populated the rocks.
We were 5 couples with a few kids, and we felt as if we had room to spare. I would recommend this property to anyone. We can't wait to go back.
The SeaDog Inn by Jo-Anne 12/24/2012
Happy New Year to you as well. The place was beautiful. In fact, I don't think the pictures do it true justice. Every bit of the property and every view is exquisite. Maximo, is the man! Can't say enough good things about him. Whatever we needed, he was there with a smile and a bueno.
We did manage to see just about everything on your list. Even went to Puerto Plata food shopping. the only suggestion would be directions straight to the house as it probably would not have been too hard to find. Also, we downloaded a map of DR from Garmin which worked to find beaches and larger towns and attractions as well as the airport.
Great trip by Anne 04/26/2012
Chester,

We had a very good week. We felt well taken care of. Seems like we had people looking out for us everywhere we went. We met both Abe from Chicos and we also met Tim from the hotel up the road. They were both very nice to talk to and they were a wealth of knowledge for our group. Abe even gave us his phone number in case we ran into any problems.

I did not go horseback riding but the group that did seemed happy with the trip. Once again, Abe had a way a making us feel at ease.

You have a great place there and you have great people working for you. Maximo and Natalia were nice and were always there when we needed something We were impressed in general with how nice the dominican people are.

We met Francias at manny's. he was another great guy. He took his moped to the sea dog and picked up a few people from our group to come down to the bar so they didn't have to walk. What service!

We were so glad that we had Ferlon to drive us around. Our trip would have been much more limited without him.

Thanks for everything. We made some great memories.

Anne
Great place to stay by Melissa Dimitracopoulos 02/24/2012
We were a group of two families with small kids and 5 other adults. We loved the Sea Dog Inn. The house was well maintained, the view was stunning, the rooms were spacious and the pool was great. We would definitely go back, hopefully some time soon. The beaches nearby are some of the nicest in the country. Great location!

My friends and I stayed at Sea Dog Inn and a month later we still can't stop talking about it. Its a little hidden gem. The staff was so helpful and we couldn't ask for more. The villa is very well equipped, clean and the setting is unbeatable! We even saw the whales from the pool one day! We are already planning our return visit! 🙂

Relaxing in a unique location with extraordinary Golf, beach dining, and touring opportunites by David B. Wilson 11/29/2010
The longer I stayed the more I enjoyed the Sea Dog. It became a second home. I would return again and again for the golf, fifteen minutes away from Playa Grande Golf course, for the sightseeing by four wheeler, and for dining on lobster, fish, and chicken at one of the local beaches. The pictures on the website tell a true story of what the Sea Dog is all about. I highly recommend the Sea Dog Inn.
Oceanfront Estate in DR by Mick O'Connor 02/17/2010
I have stayed here on several occasions. I have found the accomendations to be very good. The view is exceptional. The home is very modern and offers complete privacy. I will continue to stay there. I'm hooked. The area offers beautiful beaches, water falls, mountains, lakes, springs, and rivers. The locals are very friendly. The restaurants are good and inexpensive. I can't wait to return.
Great house, view, location by Anthony O'Meara 12/15/2009
I've stayed there twice with my wife and another couple. I love the Cabrera area, Playa Grande (beach as well as the golf course), and the little downtown. It is vibrant but safe. The Sea Dog is serene, beautiful and is a great place for comfort, entertaining friends (and clients, in my case). The waves and breezes are as flowing, living waters. It is close to several beaches, the village and the marina but secluded enough for privacy and peace. It is perfect for up to 4 couples. Also, the staff is courteous.
Great Vacation by John Lenton 03/11/2007
We are now back in freezing London, and I want to tell you how very much our party enjoyed staying at the Sea Dog! We had a really wonderful time. The property itself is glorious - beautifully maintained, fabulous garden, wonderful facilities – and the scenery and surroundings are breathtaking. We loved the peaceful way that the days unfolded; and the kindness and helpfulness of the staff just couldn’t have been greater.

We all agreed that your thoughtfulness and commitment as an owner really showed through in every aspect of the property and the way that it is run. So I wanted to write and thank you so much for enabling us to stay there and for helping to make our stay so very enjoyable, and also for your care and help for Alison over their arrival at the Sea Dog. (In fact, their drive went very well, both coming and going back to Santo Domingo.) We will certainly encourage friends to consider staying there for a vacation; and perhaps we might be able to go back there ourselves one day,
